The dangers of drinking soft drinks: a scientific approach

The sad truth about soft drinks is that many people drink nearly more soft drinks than water, which is really pathetic!

The human body is not made up of effervescent beverage, but water, nearly 66-79% water, depending on the age. (A newborn baby has up to 90% water).

- Soft drinks are not soft on the body!

Many soft drink drinkers are not aware of the dangers of this beverage. Soft drinks are very dangerous stuff!

Soft drinks (regardless of the kind or brand) is 100% acid forming! It has a pH balance of 2. This is a very low pH number.

Our bodies were made to have a natural pH balance of 7.3, which is slightly alkaline.

A pH of 6 is ten times more acidic than a pH of 7. A pH of 5 is 100 times more acidic than a pH of 7.

- Hazardous acidity of soft drinks

A pH of 4 is 1,000 times more acidic than a pH of 7. A pH of 3 is 10,000 times more acidic than a pH of 7. And a pH of 2 is 100,000 times more acidic than a pH of 7.

One can of soft drink greatly lowers your alkalinity. One can of soft drink is 100,000 more acidic than your natural pH level.

A pH of 2 means that a person would have to drink 32 glasses of alkaline water just to neutralize the effect of one can of soft drink.

- Why do we drink soft drinks

So why do we drink soft drinks? Well, because we’ve been conditioned to drink soft drinks; plus, we like the taste of this stuff.

But more importantly, we drink soft drinks because we are sick, and incidentally soft drinks originally started out as liquid drug (medicine) sold at the local pharmacy of which I’ll go more into detail later on in this article.

The acid forming nature of soft drinks is a threat to teeth and enamel. The teeth are alkaline in nature due to calcium, the most alkalizing mineral in the body. Because soft drinks are greatly acidic, they corrodes the teeth and enamel.

Soft drink beverages contain some of the most harmful synthetic sweeteners in existence. Many brands of soft drinks contain the artificial sweeteners aspartame and saccharin, both of which are cancer causing.

Aspartame (also known as Nutra Sweet) is an artificially made sweetener composed of two amino acids – phenylalanine and aspartic acid, and is 200 times sweeter than sugar (sucrose, white table sugar).

Aspartame contains 10% methyl alcohol (wood alcohol), which is also known as methanol (a light volatile pungent flammable poisonous liquid alcohol used as a solvent, anti-freeze, or denaturant for ethyl alcohol and in the synthesis of other chemicals).

- Aspartame known as neurotoxin

Aspartame is a known neurotoxin. A neurotoxin is a toxin to the brain and impairs brain health and function and adversely affects fetal brain development in unborn babies.

Aspartame converts into FORMALDEHYDE at a temperature of 30 degrees Celsius ( 86 degrees Fahrenheit). Formaldehyde (a/k/a embalming fluid) is a known NEUROTOXIN!

It stands to reason that since the human body’s natural temperature is 37 degrees Celsius (98.6 degrees Fahrenheit), aspartame will automatically convert into formaldehyde once inside the human body.

It is not wise or intelligent to embalm yourself while you are still alive. But this is what you are doing every time you guzzle down some soft drink.

Nazis and chemical warfare are recurring themes in the aspartame story. The chief patent holder of aspartame is the Monsanto Company, based in St. Louis, Missouri.

In 1967, Monsanto entered into a joint venture with I.G. Farben, the financial core of Hitler’s regime and the key supplier of poison gas to the Nazi racial extermination program.

- Saccharin as dangerous and deadly as aspartame

Saccharin is just as dangerous and deadly as aspartame. Saccharin is a non-caloric petroleum derivative (masked with glycine) that is 300 times sweeter than sugar.

Saccharin is absorbed but not modified by the body. It is excreted unchanged in the urine. Saccharine causes bladder cancer in lab animals (which mean it will also cause bladder cancer in humans).

High fructose corn syrup is another dangerous sugar that many soda pop brands contain. This harmful sugar goes straight into the blood once ingested and adversely affects blood sugar levels almost instantly.

Some brands of soft drinks may contain corn syrup or dextrose, both of which are harmful to your health.

Some soft drink brands outright use sugar (SUCROSE) in addition to other artificial sweeteners. Sucrose or white table sugar is nitroglycerin, a/k/a T.N.T. (dynamite)! Soda pop can explode on you, especially under pressure!

- Sugar the silent killer

Sugar is the number one legalized drug on the planet. It kills more people in one day than all the illegal drugs combined will in 1,000 years.

One can of soft drink is equivalent to 11 tablespoons of sugar. No wonder soft drink consumption plays a role in cancer, diabetes, kidney failure, and anxiety. Mark Pendergrast, author of “For God, Country and Coca-Cola” correctly states that soft drinks are “99 percent sugar water.”

Public schools nowadays have soda-dispensing machines throughout the campus of junior high schools and high schools throughout the nation, especially in the lunch area.

Experts say choice is yours; take a soft drink can a day keep the health away or quit having the most poisonous beverage right now and enjoy your life once again.

Healthy Tips for Bladder/Kidney Health

Here’s an easy way to check how your body is doing on the inside…

It’s fast and in most cases can be done at home!

What you need to do is take a good look (and a quick whiff) the next time you’re in the toilet emptying your bladder.

Your urine can tell you heaps about how well you’re doing on the inside. If the colour of your urine is anything but bright yellow it could be because of some kidney or liver disorder, and even cancer of the urinary tract.

Is Your Urine Normal and Healthy?

Do you have difficulty urinating?
Are you urinating more frequently than normal?
Does your urine possess an unusual colour or smell?

Healthy urine is pale yellow in colour and has no offensive smell. Where does the yellow colour come from? An article published in the Medical Laboratory Observer made this comment “the yellow colour is due to the presence of urochrome, a product of endogenous metabolism. The amount excreted can vary depending on the person’s metabolic state, with increased urochrome production during fasting states.”

If you drink too much water then your urine will probably be colourless. You may think that’s a good thing but drinking too much can stress your bladder and give you the inconvenience of having to constantly visit the toilet.

Watch Out! If it’s Anything But Pale Yellow
You Might Have a Problem…

Different foods and medications can turn urine brown, red (from pink to red-brown), green and even blue. Colours other than yellow should be investigated without delay.

While taking too much vitamin C can turn your urine bright yellow, if your urine is yellow orange it’s probably due to dehydration.

Certain laxatives, medications, muscle relaxants, vitamins, and fruits and vegetables (like carrots, blackberries, rhubarb and beets) can also change the colour of your urine.

Urine that’s cloudy in colour can indicate the presence of a urinary tract infection.

Foamy urine, on the other hand, might be a sign of having too much protein in your urine.

What Your Kidneys Are Trying to Tell You

Every day, 200 litres of blood are processed through the kidneys. Your kidneys purify your blood by filtering, processing and eliminating excess salts, minerals, toxins, acids and other food by-products.

Nutrition Health Review says “one thousand parts of healthy urine contain about 960 parts of water and 40 parts of solutes, which consist chiefly of urea and sodium chloride, phosphoric acid, sulphuric acid, and uric acid.”

Those corrosive acids might be a worry. And if you’re an overly acidic person then your kidneys will have to toil extra hard to remove those toxic acids out of your system.

It’s a good idea to check how well the kidneys are filtering by looking for wastes in the blood or proteins in the urine that should have been retained in the body. The American Diabetes Association recommends three tests to screen for kidney disease:

Blood pressure measurement. Many people don’t realise that high blood pressure can be a sign of kidney damage and even a cause of it.

Urine albumin test. Damaged kidneys leak a protein called albumin into the urine. You should have this test done from time to time to see if any amounts of albumin are present in the urine. Remember, a healthy person’s urine contains little or no protein.

Estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) blood test. This test will determine how well your kidneys are removing the waste product creatinine from the blood.

You should consult a medical practitioner if you are worried about your urine, kidneys or health or if you experience difficulty urinating. And, when having a urine test, don’t forget to inform the person making the urinalysis know of any drugs, if any, that you take.

Tap Water pH Level is Too Low for Body’s Normal Levels

In a study released today that has proponents of alkaline water smiling, it was revealed that tap water in California has an average pH balance of 7.

Los Angeles, California – United States – August 25, 2009 – The body’s optimum pH level is 7.365. A lower pH balance which some claim can be caused by the consumption of food and water will result in the body becoming too acidic and the immune system breaking down.

The study was done independently and no medical professionals have come forward either to endorse or refute it’s claims. It has been widely believed for over a decade now that the body’s acidity level and how to adjust it could be the key to curing many of the fatal diseases that afflict human beings. Proponents of alkaline water and mineral supplements agree with this assumption but there is yet no concrete medical evidence to support it.

This is not the first time that California drinking water has been under fire for being unhealthy. In 1986, the toxic content of the drinking water in Los Angeles and Orange County caused the passing of Proposition 65, the Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act. It requires the State of California to publish a list of chemicals that you might be exposed to that can cause cancer, birth defects, or other reproductive disorders.

Prop 65 doesn’t ban any chemicals from manufacturing processes but it does require companies to post warnings on their products for the protection of the consumer. This was done in the hopes of limiting the number of contaminants that could be released into drinking water supplies. It is also widely considered the beginning of the bottled water trend in California.

Today there are 750 harmful chemicals on the Prop 65 list. The study results on pH released today suggest that the drinking water itself should be placed on it, regardless of its chemical content. “The acidity level is too high”, according to those who conducted the study, and “alkaline bottled water is a much healthier alternative” is a slogan that we’ll most likely be hearing a lot more of in the near future.

Has to be Natural Mineral Water

You’ve probably heard it a hundred times – getting your daily dose of minerals and vitamins is important for good health. However, buying and remembering to take vitamin and mineral supplements can be a pain in the you-know-what. But did you know that drinking clean, healthy mineral water benefits you conveniently and directly, without having to visit your pharmacy? All you have to do is pour yourself a glass of water.

Over the last several decades we’ve become educated about the dangers of water pollution. Many water purification companies have sprung up to address the demand for clean water. And while their methods of getting rid of contaminants have resulted in safer drinking water, this purified water no longer provides the healthy mineral water benefits that it once did.

Minerals have been called the “spark plugs of life.” Minerals are the body’s electrical transmitters… sending electrical signals to every cell. Calcium is needed for heart action, muscle contraction, nerve impulses and, of course, strong bones and teeth. Magnesium is important for liver function, muscles, transfer of inter-cellular water, alkaline balance, neuromuscular activity. Potassium is needed for cell membrane potential, nerve impulse conduction, and heart rhythm. In other words, our very existence is dependent upon the body’s ability to utilize minerals.

Water purification methods like reverse osmosis and distillation strip out calcium, magnesium and potassium which naturally occur in fresh water. Drinking water with naturally balanced minerals instead of demineralized water just makes more sense if we want to be healthy.

Mineral water also contains naturally occurring salts. Unlike the almost nutritionally useless pre-cooked table salt, natural salts can contain a great abundance of different vital minerals, most prominently potassium, manganese, silica, chromium, lithium, and copper. Natural sea salts, in fact 92 known minerals that the human body uses.

Many times, people buy bottled water and they believe that they are buying mineral water. But this just isn’t so. While there are of course bottled mineral waters that are sold, if the label does not specify that you’re buying “natural mineral water” then you’re just buying mineral-free spring water or just filtered tap water.

The bottled water industry has grown rapidly as negative reports about tap water and humans’ ever increasing mobility have abounded. However, many bottled waters that are labeled “spring water” have been proven to be fakes: they are filtered tap waters with an acidic pH balance.

While authentic spring water may contain some trace elements of minerals, mineral water by definition contains a lot more total dissolved solids. Only these waters are permitted to be labeled “mineral water”.

For a long time people only bought or paid for Mineral Water not spring water, only in the last 10 years or so, people started to buy spring water only because it is commonly and easily found.

When you buy water make sure it is Saka Water!

Buying Saka water guarrantees you are buying the purest, healthiest, silkiest natural mineral water with a healthy alkaline pH of 8.22.
